What does a web developer do?
A web shop may be the showpiece, but as a web developer you know that a lot has to be done to create a website. How this all comes to exist and the possibilities that come with this challenge, now that's interesting!
As a web developer at Utilize you will be creating and maintaining several web applications, for our customers and within our organization. For example, you will be working on customers’ web portals, new modules, integrations between and with applications of external suppliers and process improvements.

You are a hands-on web developer and really enjoy programming, even if it is now less than you would have liked it to be. You are able to work in a team and independently and enjoy building new and existing web products together. If you can program and have knowledge of the following techniques, we would like to come into contact with you!
For our existing solutions we are looking for someone with knowledge of one or more of the following techniques:
- ASP.NET web forms
- VB.NET
- SOAP web services
- SQL Server
You will also be developing our newest architecture, with which we use the following techniques/concepts:
- C#
- RESTful web services
- Microservices
- JavaScript/Angular
- .NET Core
- Apache Kafka
- Docker
- NoSQL databases (Elastic)
Experience with the above mentioned techniques and concepts are a preference, but not necessarily required.
Utilize is a ‘software builder’ that has been offering b2b web solutions for stock keeping wholesalers based on its own standard of .NET. Parts of this framework consist of for example a web portal (there are over 200 online and counting!) and integrations with software packages.
As a team of 20 people – half of them being developers! – we work together. Utilize is situated in Hilversum close to the station in the old Milk factory (cool building!). We are a company with pragmatic ‘hands-on’ mentality, flexible, a fully stocked fridge and our own table football corner.
